The 22-year-old Irish defender has made one appearance for the Tigers' first team, starting in the FA Cup third-round replay against Birmingham City in January of last season. Unfortunately, a knee injury sustained during that match has kept him out of competitive action ever since.
Despite this setback, the majority of Furlong's first-team experience has been accrued through a loan spell with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.
