Barca make substantial offer for Olmo following agreement on personal terms


Barcelona and Dani Olmo have reached an agreement on a six-year deal, with the La Liga club now presenting a new €62 million offer to RB Leipzig

Barcelona is said to have reached an agreement on personal terms with Dani Olmo and has made a fresh offer to RB Leipzig as they pursue a transfer this summer.



WHAT HAPPENED?

After Olmo's outstanding performances at Euro 2024, which helped Spain secure the championship, Barcelona is said to be keen on acquiring the midfielder. Initially, the Catalan club prioritized signing Nico Williams from Athletic Club. However, with Williams reportedly intending to remain with the Basque team for another season, Barcelona has now refocused its attention on Olmo.



THE BIGGER PICTURE

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona and Olmo have reached an agreement on personal terms for a six-year contract extending until the summer of 2030. Romano also mentioned that Olmo is solely focused on joining Barcelona. However, Barcelona has not yet settled on a transfer fee with Leipzig. They have made a new offer, hoping it will be approved.

According to Romano's report, Barcelona have made a fresh offer to the Bundesliga team, totaling €55 million (£46.3m/$59.3m), plus an additional €7 million (£5.9m/$7.5m) in add-ons.
