CHELSEA GETS BIG BOOST! VICTOR OSIMHEN 'HAS REQUESTED TO LEAVE NAPOLI' THIS SUMMER AS BLUES TARGET LOAN DEAL FOR STRIKER
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has formally requested to leave the club this summer, according to club director Giovanni Manna. This development comes amid strong links with Chelsea, who are emerging as a potential destination for the Nigerian forward.
Throughout the summer transfer window, Osimhen has been at the center of speculation regarding a move away from Napoli. Initially, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) showed significant interest in the striker, making him a top target. However, PSG soon withdrew from the negotiations, primarily due to the high transfer fee associated with Osimhen and their decision to continue with Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos.
In recent weeks, Chelsea has surfaced as a viable alternative for Osimhen. Reports suggest that the two clubs have discussed a potential swap deal, which could see Romelu Lukaku moving to Napoli in exchange for Osimhen. Antonio Conte, the manager of Napoli, has expressed a desire to acquire Lukaku, and such a deal could facilitate Osimhen's exit from Napoli, aligning with his expressed wish to leave.
Giovanni Manna addressed the situation in a media statement, saying, "Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He is determined to move on. The circumstances are quite clear; there were opportunities for him to depart last summer as well. Victor wants to leave, and we will have to see how things unfold in the next 20 days."
Despite this, Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, has firmly rejected the notion of a swap or loan arrangement for the current season. However, with Osimhen keen on securing a transfer as soon as possible, he may ultimately need to agree to Chelsea's conditions to facilitate his departure from Napoli.
