Caicedo firmly believes that turning down Liverpool was absolutely the right choice

MOISES CAICEDO FIRMLY BELIEVES THAT CHOOSING CHELSEA OVER LIVERPOOL WAS "ABSOLUTELY" THE CORRECT DECISION. THE £115 MILLION PLAYER PROMISES TO DEMONSTRATE TO FANS THAT HE IS "A BOSS" DESPITE HAVING A DIFFICULT DEBUT SEASON

Moises Caicedo is firmly convinced that he made the correct decision by choosing to join Chelsea over Liverpool last summer. The Blues invested a record-breaking £115 million (€134 million) to secure Caicedo from Brighton, significantly outspending Liverpool, who were also keen to sign the talented midfielder.

Although Chelsea made a substantial financial commitment, the return on investment from the 22-year-old Caicedo was not as anticipated. Over the course of 48 matches in all competitions, he managed to score just once and contribute four assists. Despite these modest statistics, Caicedo remains optimistic about the future, attributing his confidence to the new manager, Enzo Maresca. Caicedo is hopeful that Maresca's tactical approach will unlock his full potential in the forthcoming 2024-25 season.

Reflecting on his choice, Caicedo shared with reporters, "It was a challenging decision because Liverpool is such a prestigious team. However, Chelsea was incredibly supportive throughout the process, especially during the period when Brighton was reluctant to release me. Their consistent backing during those tough times made me feel that this move was too important to pass up. While it was a difficult decision, I am 100% sure it was the right one."

In discussing his goals for the upcoming season, Caicedo elaborated on Chelsea's official website, saying, "The new manager's system is very similar to the one I thrived in at Brighton. He expects me to showcase my skills, exhibit a strong personality, and establish myself as a leader on the pitch. I am confident that under his guidance, I will perform at a high level and make a significant impact."

Caicedo will next be seen on the field as Chelsea prepares for their final pre-season friendly against Real Madrid in Charlotte on Tuesday, marking the end of their U.S. tour.
