MAN UTD MAKES A DOUBLE BID FOR BAYERN MUNICH DUO MATTHIJS DE LIGT AND NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI AS ERIK TEN HAG ADVANCES HIS DEFENSIVE OVERHAUL

Manchester United have reportedly made a double bid for Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. Erik ten Hag has prioritized bolstering the defense at Old Trafford this summer. The Red Devils already spent £52 million ($66m) on teenage center-back Leny Yoro, who is now sidelined for three months due to a pre-season foot injury. Now, United are targeting two players from Allianz Arena, according to The Athletic. Their initial offer for Dutch international De Ligt and Moroccan full-back Mazraoui was rejected, with Bayern indicating that a higher fee is needed to secure both players. De Ligt and Mazraoui have been informed they are not part of new head coach Vincent Kompany's long-term plans. Both players have reportedly agreed to personal terms with United, with five-year contracts awaiting their signatures in England. However, it remains uncertain if a satisfactory agreement can be reached before the transfer window closes.
