CRYSTAL PALACE WANT TO SIGN WILFRIED ZAHA FOR A THIRD TIME AS THE GALATASARAY WINGER SEEKS A PREMIER LEAGUE COMEBACK AFTER JUST ONE YEAR IN TURKEY
Crystal Palace are actively pursuing a remarkable reunion with Wilfried Zaha, which would mark his third tenure with the club. According to the Daily Telegraph, Palace is enthusiastic about re-signing Zaha and bringing him back to Selhurst Park for a third spell.
Zaha originally emerged from Palace's youth academy and made a significant impact during his early years. His talent earned him a move to Manchester United in 2013, but his time there was brief. He spent part of the 2013-2014 season on loan at Palace, which was later followed by a permanent return to the club in 2015. Over the next eight years, Zaha was a key player for Palace, contributing significantly to their success and becoming an iconic figure at Selhurst Park.
Last summer, Zaha moved to Galatasaray as a free agent, signing a lucrative contract with the Turkish club. However, despite the high profile of the move, Zaha’s time in Turkey has been less impactful than anticipated. He made only 13 starts in the Super Lig and found himself frequently used as a rotation player, particularly in the latter stages of the season. This limited playing time has led to a mutual decision between Zaha and Galatasaray to explore potential options for his departure this summer.
The Turkish club is seeking a £9 million ($11 million) loan fee for Zaha if he is to leave on a short-term deal, and Palace are reportedly prepared to meet this financial demand. Despite Galatasaray’s success in winning the Turkish league title, Zaha's reduced role at the club has made it easier for the club to consider his departure.
Should the transfer go through, Zaha would return to Palace with the opportunity to further enhance his legendary status at the club. Throughout his career with Palace, he has made 458 appearances, scored 90 goals, and provided 62 assists, solidifying his place as one of the club’s most influential players. His potential return to Selhurst Park is highly anticipated by both fans and the club, who are eager to see him rekindle his impact on the team.
