Portugal forward Jota Silva signs with Forest

Nottingham Forest have announced the acquisition of Portugal forward Jota Silva from Vitoria Guimaraes, securing him with a four-year contract. Silva, who is 25 years old, is a highly versatile attacker capable of playing effectively across multiple forward positions. His recent season in the Portuguese Primeira Liga was notably impressive, where he scored 15 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions, showcasing his significant impact on the field.

Silva has also made strides on the international stage. He earned his first cap for Portugal in March, and since then, he has accumulated a total of two international appearances. Despite his growing reputation, Silva was not selected for Portugal's squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.

In a statement regarding the new signing, Forest’s chief football officer Ross Wilson conveyed the club’s enthusiasm about Silva joining the team. Wilson noted, “We are thrilled to welcome Jota Silva to Nottingham Forest. It’s evident from his recent performances and demeanor that he is excited about the opportunity to advance his career beyond his home country. His strong performances in the Primeira Liga with Vitoria Guimaraes have demonstrated his talent and potential. We are eager to see how he will contribute to our squad and help drive the team forward.”

Silva’s addition is expected to bring a new dynamic to Nottingham Forest’s attacking options as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming seasons.
