PSG INITIATE TALKS WITH JADON SANCHO ABOUT A POTENTIAL BLOCKBUSTER TRANSFER, DESPITE HIM REPAIRING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ERIK TEN HAG
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly begun negotiations with Manchester United regarding a transfer for Jadon Sancho. According to Dharmesh Sheth, a Sky Sports journalist, the Ligue 1 champions have initiated discussions with the Red Devils about the possibility of acquiring Sancho this summer. Sheth indicates that the two clubs have already explored various aspects of the potential deal, with Sancho himself seemingly open to the move.
Sancho's relationship with Manchester United took a turbulent turn last season after a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. This disagreement led to Sancho being sidelined from the first team and subsequently loaned out to Borussia Dortmund on a short-term basis. Despite this setback, Sancho has since reintegrated into the United squad, and recent indications suggest that he and Ten Hag have resolved their differences. During the pre-season, Ten Hag has regularly included Sancho in matches and has hinted at experimenting with him in a new position for the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
The interest from PSG comes in the wake of Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. PSG’s new manager, Luis Enrique, is actively seeking a high-caliber winger to fill the void left by Mbappe, and Sancho is seen as a suitable candidate. In addition to the discussions about Sancho, Manchester United have also inquired about PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, indicating a broadening of their dialogue with PSG. The ongoing communication between the two clubs suggests that both sides are open to exploring various transfer possibilities.
