TOTTENHAM HAVE IDENTIFIED BOURNEMOUTH STRIKER DOMINIC SOLANKE AS A MAJOR TARGET BEFORE THE TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSES AT THE END OF THE MONTH
The 26-year-old player is anticipated to take a significant step in his career by moving to a European club, a move that could significantly improve his prospects with the England national team.
Bournemouth, where the player is currently contracted until 2027, has made it clear that they are not open to any offers for Solanke at this time. The only potential trigger for a sale would be the presence of a £65 million release clause in his contract. Solanke, who previously played for Liverpool, had an impressive season last year, netting 21 goals in 42 appearances.
In the meantime, Tottenham Hotspur's manager, Ange Postecoglou, emphasized last week that acquiring a forward is a major focus for the club. He pointed out that their attack is the area of the team that is currently the most lacking in depth.
Tottenham is exploring various options to bolster their attack, including Lille's Jonathan David, and they are also considering the addition of a winger. The future of Richarlison remains uncertain due to interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, but Tottenham is determined to bring in another striker regardless of whether Richarlison stays or leaves.
Additionally, forwards Bryan Gil and Alejo Veliz have been loaned out to Girona and Espanyol for the season, respectively. Despite these departures, Tottenham has a number of promising young players, such as Dane Scarlett, Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore, who are all vying for spots in the first team.
This summer, Tottenham has made several new additions to their squad, including midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, winger Yang Min-hyuk, and they have also re-signed striker Timo Werner on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig. These moves are part of the club’s strategy to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
