TOTTENHAM IS CLOSE TO SECURING THEIR TARGET! BOURNEMOUTH HAS AGREED TO SELL DOMINIC SOLANKE FOR A CLUB-RECORD FEE, AND PERSONAL TERMS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED
Bournemouth have reached an agreement to sell their star striker, Dominic Solanke, to Tottenham Hotspur for a club-record fee.
The Athletic reports that negotiations between Bournemouth and Tottenham are nearing completion, with Solanke reportedly "eager" to make the move to north London. The transfer is set to break Bournemouth’s previous record for a sale, which was £41 million ($52 million) from Nathan Ake's move to Manchester City in 2020. Solanke, who is 26 years old, is seen as an ideal fit for Tottenham’s manager Ange Postecoglou’s high-pressing style of play. As Solanke enters the peak of his career, his strong work ethic, running ability, and versatility in playing with his back to goal make him a valuable addition to Spurs.
Solanke’s previous experiences with Chelsea and Liverpool did not see him fully realize his potential, but his performances at Bournemouth have been impressive. Last season, he scored 19 goals in the Premier League, which brings his total to 29 goals in the top flight. Notably, more than half of these goals came during the last season alone, highlighting his significant contribution and scoring ability.
If all goes according to plan and the deal is finalized smoothly, Solanke will soon join Tottenham. This will give him the opportunity to familiarize himself with his new teammates and prepare for Tottenham's Premier League opener against Leicester City. The move represents a significant step in Solanke’s career as he looks to make a substantial impact at a top club.
