West Brom midfielder Yokuslu has transferred to Trabzonspor

 

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuslu has transferred to Turkish Super Lig team Trabzonspor for an undisclosed amount

The 30-year-old player, who initially joined West Bromwich Albion on loan from Celta Vigo during the latter part of their 2020-21 season and then permanently in July 2022, played in all but three of the Championship team's matches last season.

He scored his fifth goal in his 105th appearance during a 4-1 victory at Huddersfield Town in March.

In a social media post, Yokuslu referred to West Brom's players as his "brothers" and praised manager Carlos Corberan, calling him "fantastic," along with his coaching team and the club's staff.

"I loved every second," he said. "It’s been an absolute pleasure. I will be supporting you from afar. Love you all, Baggies."

The recipient of Albion's 2022-23 Players’ Player of the Year award, Yokuslu previously spent three seasons at Trabzonspor from 2015 to 2018.
