Brentford has reached a £27.5 million agreement for Liverpool's Carvalho

LIVERPOOL HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT TO SELL FABIO CARVALHO TO BRENTFORD IN A DEAL WORTH £27.5 MILLION, INCLUDING ADD-ONS

The Reds have negotiated a 17.5% sell-on clause as part of the agreement, which is believed to be for an initial fee of approximately £20 million. This clause will ensure that Liverpool benefits financially from any future sale of the player.

Liverpool originally signed the forward from Fulham for £5 million in 2022. As part of this deal, Fulham is entitled to receive 20% of the profit generated from his transfer to Brentford, reflecting their initial investment and interest in the player’s future success.

Carvalho was also on Southampton's radar, but Liverpool rejected their offer, which was around £15 million. This bid was significantly lower than what Liverpool deemed acceptable for approving a permanent transfer, indicating that they valued Carvalho higher.

During Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States, the 21-year-old demonstrated his potential by scoring in victories against major teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United. His performances during this period highlighted his capability and value to the team.

Despite this, Carvalho was expected to face limited playing time once many of Liverpool's regular first-team players returned following their participation in Euro 2024 and the Copa America. This scenario likely influenced Liverpool's decision to consider offers for him.

Last season, Carvalho was loaned out to RB Leipzig and Hull City. In his time at Hull City, he made a significant impact by scoring nine goals in 20 appearances, showcasing his talent and scoring ability.
