Charlotte has made an offer for Newcastle's Almiron.

CHARLOTTE FC HAS SUBMITTED AN OFFER FOR NEWCASTLE'S MIGUEL ALMIRÓN AFTER THEIR ATTEMPT TO SIGN DUTCH INTERNATIONAL CALVIN STENGS FELL THROUGH

Charlotte FC is actively pursuing Newcastle United's Miguel Almirón as they seek to strengthen their squad before the MLS transfer window closes. Almirón, who previously made his mark in MLS with Atlanta United, is a significant target for Charlotte, and negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing. Newcastle is open to selling the Paraguayan winger, especially as the club looks to raise funds to bolster their defense.

However, the deal is complicated by financial considerations. Charlotte FC has reportedly found the transfer fee for Almirón to be steep, leading them to also explore other options, including an approach for Tottenham's Giovani Lo Celso. Despite the financial hurdles, Charlotte FC remains interested in securing Almirón's return to MLS, though the club is racing against time with the window closing soon.

Meanwhile, Newcastle's willingness to part ways with Almirón comes after a less impressive season from the player. Although Almirón played a crucial role in Newcastle's success during the 2022-23 season, his recent form has dipped, prompting the club to consider offers for him. Newcastle's management is eager to reinvest any funds from his sale into other areas of the squad, particularly their defensive line.

Almirón's potential departure from Newcastle could also see him moving to Saudi Arabia, where there has been reported interest from clubs. However, Charlotte FC's proposal represents a strong possibility for the winger to return to a league where he previously thrived.
