Bayern Munich fans have pleaded with Matthijs de Ligt to stay at the club despite his rumored transfer to Manchester United. De Ligt has been widely speculated to join United this summer, with reports indicating that the Red Devils have made a combined offer for him and right-back Noussair Mazraoui. However, de Ligt is reportedly not near a transfer to Old Trafford and has resumed pre-season training with Bayern Munich.

As De Ligt shared a collage of workout photos on Instagram, fans pleaded with him to remain in Germany.

Among many other requests for De Ligt to stay, @esmueldert also said: "We need you leader."

De Ligt has been at Bayern since 2022 with a contract running until 2027, which means the club isn't under significant pressure to sell him. Nonetheless, it seems they are preparing for the future by pursuing Jonathan Tah as a possible replacement.

United will look to bring in a new defender soon after losing Leny Yoro to injury following his initial appearance in a pre-season friendly. Whether that new defender will be De Ligt remains uncertain.
