Former USA player Araujo is in discussions for a quick €10 million exit from Barcelona

JULIAN ARAUJO, FORMERLY WITH THE USMNT, IS IN TALKS FOR A RAPID EXIT FROM BARCELONA AS A PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB NEGOTIATES A €10 MILLION TRANSFER

Barcelona is currently aiming to secure a €10 million transfer fee for Julian Araujo, with Premier League club Bournemouth showing interest. The right-back, who made the move from LA Galaxy to Barcelona in February 2023, has yet to make his debut for the Catalan giants' first team. According to Spanish publication Sport, Bournemouth is looking to acquire the 22-year-old for a fee around €9 million (£7.7 million), though Barcelona is reportedly holding out for €10 million (£8.5 million).

Araujo, who previously earned one cap for the United States before his move to Barcelona, is a player Barcelona is eager to offload to help alleviate their financial difficulties. The club is seeking to free up transfer funds and reduce wages, which has led them to consider selling Araujo. The report suggests that a deal with Bournemouth could be completed as early as Friday.

Last season, Araujo was loaned to Las Palmas, another La Liga side, where he made 28 appearances and scored two goals. Standing at 5 feet 9 inches, he seems to be out of manager Hansi Flick's plans for the current season, making a transfer exit a practical solution for all parties involved. If the transfer to Bournemouth goes through, Araujo could make his debut in their Premier League season opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 17.
