Juventus takes McKennie's jersey off the club store as departure looms

WESTON MCKENNIE ERASED FROM JUVENTUS! SERIE A GIANTS REMOVE USMNT STAR'S SHIRT FROM CLUB STORE, SIGNALLING ANOTHER CLEAR MESSAGE ABOUT HIS FUTURE

Juventus have recently made it clear that Weston McKennie is no longer in their plans for the future. This indication comes from the club's decision to remove his shirt from their official store, signaling that he is no longer considered a part of the team's strategy.

McKennie, who is 25 years old, has had an uncertain future with Juventus for some time. Earlier this year, he reportedly turned down a new contract offer from the club, which seemed to set the stage for his departure. Now, the situation has become more pronounced as manager Thiago Motta appears to be actively seeking to offload McKennie. Motta's intentions reportedly extend to other players as well, including winger Federico Chiesa and a few others who are also rumored to be on their way out.

According to a recent report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, McKennie's shirt has been pulled from the club's merchandise lineup. This decision follows news that McKennie has been linked with potential transfers to clubs such as Fiorentina and Aston Villa. The fact that Motta is looking to move McKennie, along with other players like Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny, and more, suggests a significant overhaul of the squad is underway.

The situation is further highlighted by the fact that, on the club's official website, fans can no longer personalize shirts with the names of McKennie, Szczesny, Daniele Rugani, Chiesa, Arkadiusz Milik, or Mattia De Sciglio. This omission points to a clear intention of moving these players out of the club.

Given that McKennie is in the final year of his contract, his departure could be facilitated more easily compared to those with longer-term contracts. With Juventus set to begin their Serie A campaign on August 19 against Como and concluding their pre-season matches with a game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, the clock is ticking for McKennie and the other players in search of new opportunities before the new season kicks off.
