Manchester United target Bremer has decided on his future with Juventus

SETBACK FOR MAN UTD? CENTRE-BACK TARGET BREMER MAKES SIGNIFICANT CHOICE ABOUT HIS FUTURE AT JUVENTUS

Manchester United’s pursuit of Gleison Bremer has come to an end as the Brazilian center-back has decided to remain with Juventus by agreeing to a new, extended contract. The Red Devils had shown significant interest in Bremer throughout the summer transfer window, but he has chosen to extend his stay in Turin. Juventus confirmed on Monday that Bremer's new contract will keep him with the club until June 30, 2029. Additionally, the deal will include a €60 million (£51 million) release clause, which could potentially be triggered if another club decides to pursue him in the future.

Earlier this summer, Manchester United had bolstered their defense by signing young French defender Leny Yoro from Lille. However, Yoro's time with the club was cut short when he suffered a metatarsal injury in only his second appearance during a pre-season match against Arsenal. This injury is expected to sideline him for a minimum of three months, leaving United in need of further defensive reinforcements.

Bremer had previously hinted that he might remain in Serie A, suggesting that Juventus, under the guidance of manager Thiago Motta, could achieve great things in the coming season. He had expressed his satisfaction with his current situation, indicating that he was content with the high level of competition at Juventus and Motta's managerial skills.

With Bremer now committed to Juventus and Yoro sidelined due to injury, Manchester United is anticipated to shift their focus towards acquiring another top-quality defender. Reports suggest that the Premier League giants are now likely to intensify their efforts to secure Bayern Munich’s Dutch center-back Matthijs de Ligt. De Ligt, known for his defensive prowess and previous success in European competitions, could be a key target for United as they look to strengthen their backline for the season ahead.
